About

Founder

InertialRange Labs AB is an AI and data-platform consulting practice run by Farrukh Nauman, based in Linköping, Sweden.

I work as AI Automation Lead / Change Manager, Principal Consultant, or AI Engineer — depending on what the engagement needs. My focus areas are enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Snowpark), AI coding-agent workflows, and time series / telemetry ML, and I help organizations move from AI exploration to controlled implementation: prioritizing high-value automation, modernizing data and code stacks, integrating agents into existing workflows, upgrading legacy code, and steering stakeholders across business, IT, data, legal/compliance, and security.

Since August 2025 I’ve been consulting through InertialRange Labs AB. As part of an ongoing engagement, I serve as interim team lead for Data Science & Advanced Analytics (Sep 2025 – Jun 2026) at a global industrial manufacturer, leading a 4–7 person team across telemetry analytics, ML, and GenAI automation — owning the roadmap, stakeholder steering, and technical direction.

Before InertialRange, I held AI researcher and consultant roles at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (Jul 2021 – Aug 2025), where I led a Vinnova-funded applied AI project on circular fashion (project lead, ~9M SEK) and contributed as AI lead to the EU CISUTAC initiative (~2M SEK). Earlier, I held research positions at Chalmers University of Technology and the Niels Bohr Institute, and completed a PhD in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Rochester.

Selected outcomes

  • ~1 week: cross-platform migration validator (Databricks → Snowflake), zero to live dashboard.
  • 5–10× faster, 50%+ cheaper: SQL pipeline optimization with row-level correctness validation.
  • 10–100× faster: time series classification for industrial telemetry and edge deployment.
  • 40% faster inspection workflows and 50%+ lower data collection costs via synthetic data (circular-fashion computer vision).
  • Interim team lead for a 4–7 person DS and advanced analytics team at a global industrial manufacturer.

Why this company exists

Most AI and data-platform initiatives fail for predictable reasons: weak validation, underestimated data readiness, and a gap between prototypes and production. InertialRange exists to remove those failure modes with systematic evaluation, clear scope, and delivery-oriented execution.

Running my own company also lets me choose the right engagements — the ones where I can take real ownership and deliver measurable outcomes.
